THE 21ST SENIOR OFFICIALS’ MEETING FOR CULTURE AND ARTS (SOMCA) AND RELATED MEETINGS WITH DIALOGUE PARTNERS
The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), in its leadership role of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) pillar, will host the 21st Senior Officials’ Meeting for Culture and Arts (21st SOMCA) and Related Meetings with Dialogue Partners from 17 to 22 November 2025 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
The SOMCA Meeting is a scheduled meeting attended by ASEAN Senior Officials to discuss matters related to culture, arts, and heritage. The meeting will deliberate on the implementation of the ASEAN Strategic Plan for Culture and Arts 2016–2025, new initiatives and strategies, as well as other issues pertaining to cooperation in the fields of culture and the arts among ASEAN Member States.
In conjunction with the meeting, the Borneo Arts and Crafts Bazaar (BACB) will also be organised to highlight the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Sabah.
